Our story
Flat Meadow Atelier began as a weekend workshop series taught in a sunlit studio near a wide, quiet field. The name reminds us to design with space and calm: a flat meadow where ideas have room to grow. We built a school that puts editorial clarity and safe craft at the center of every lesson.
Mission
We help meticulous makers become confident formulators. That means teaching safety without fear, aesthetics without ego, and sustainability without dogma.
- • Transparency over tricks: we cite ratios and sources.
- • Repeatability first: controlled variables make better art.
- • Respect for time: sharp layouts and structured modules.
- • Responsible making: reduce waste, label clearly, store safely.
Editorial approach
We borrow from magazines: bold headings, asymmetry, generous spacing. Lessons arrive in digestible “spreads,” with clear objectives and concise checklists. This reduces cognitive load and helps you focus on material handling and timing.
Studio manifesto
Measure twice. Label once. Track temperatures. Pour with intention. Cure with patience.

Values & transparency
Sourcing and sustainability ↓
We prioritize suppliers with traceable lye, responsibly harvested botanicals, and recyclable packaging. Our classes include inventory planning to reduce waste.
Accessibility of learning ↓
Captions, transcripts, and clearly structured handouts help more makers learn comfortably.
Safety first culture ↓
All students receive safety checklists, PPE guidance, and protocol for handling lye and essential oils before any practical session.
